The time range displayed on the JUMO LOGOSCREEN 500 cf is determined by the programmed memory cycle.
Different memory cycles can be programmed for the three possible operating modes: "Normal operation", "Time operation" and "Event operation". This allows, for instance, to save measured values more frequently, e.g. in the event of overrange or in a specific time frame, and, thus, have available a higher resolution within the time axis.
Do the interface parameters (log, baud rate, data format, device address, etc.) in the communication server program JUMO PCC correspond with the settings in the JUMO LOGOSCREEN 500cf?
If necessary, refer to the operating manual, chapter 4.2.10 (Configuration - Interface).
Is the connection, interface type (RS232/RS485) and connection, correct?
For the RS485, an additional external interface converter to RS232 or USB is often required for connection to a PC.
The recording time depends on several factors:
Please refer to chapter 2.8 in this operating manual for the orientation values listed in a table.
Take into consideration, that the internal memory in the Logoscreen 500cf operates as a ring memory, whereas the measured data saved on the external CF card cannot be overwritten automatically by the Logoscreen 500cf.
Thus, the old data remains saved on the CF card if the recording time is exceeded, whereas the internal memory contains the latest data. Measured data is lost for the time inbetween.
Compact Flash memory cards (Industrial Grade) up to max. 2 GB can be used.
Format: FAT or FAT16
For a high data security, we recommend to only use the CF cards available from JUMO as accessories for this recorder. These CF cards were tested together with the Logoscreen 500cf and have been proven in practice.
1. Release of integrators and counters as well as the maths and logics module.
Release of these software options at a later time is possible with the setup program and also directly on the device using the keys.
1.1 Proceed as follows to release the options using the keys on the device:
A code number is read out first from the logoscreen 500cf. For this purpose, invoke the following menu:
Configuration level à Device data à Option release à Determined code No.
The number code displayed here including the possible prefix is sent to JUMO by telephone, fax or mail.
JUMO will generate a device-specific release key from this code No.
Then, enter this release key into the respective field on the device to release the option. The option is immediately available and can be configured and used as required by the user.
1.2 Option release via the setup program:
The extra code "Maths", "Counters/integrators" can be released at a later time using the Logoscreen 500cf setup program and an interface connection to the recorder.
Complete wiring of the Logoscreen 500cf is not required for the option release. It is only necessary to connect the recorder voltage supply.
The interface connection can be easily established with a JUMO USB-TTL or JUMO RS232-TTL interface via the serial programming interface.
An optional RS485/RS422/RS232 interface can be used for establishing the connection as an alternative to the JUMO interface lines.
A code number for maths and counters/integrators can be generated (= read out) in the setup program under the "EXTRAS" - "Release of extra codes" menu point. The displayed code number including the possible prefix is sent to JUMO by telephone, fax or mail.
JUMO will generate a device-specific release code from this code number.
Enter this release code in the setup program in the field following "Enter release code" on the PC to release the option.
2. Upgrade from three to six analog inputs
If required, Logoscreen 500cf delivered with three analog inputs can be upgrades at a later date to six analog inputs by the JUMO service personnel.
3. Upgrade of 4 binary inputs, 3 relays and a serial interface RS 232/485 (modbus, J-Bus)
If required, the system can be upgraded at a later time to the extra code "261“ (=> 4 binary inputs, 3 relay outputs, serial interface RS232/485) by the JUMO service personnel.
A malfunction is pending that is precisely displayed in the device info window.
(e.g. "Battery flat“)
Furthermore, general information about the device, e.g. software version number and hardware equipment is displayed in the device info window.

An inspection certificate 2.2 of an acceptance test certificate 3.1.B can be issued for the LOGOSCREEN 500cf upon request.
For this purpose, send the device to JUMO including a list of the specified measuring points to be moved to.
It is possible to calibrate complete temperature measuring strings in the user factory as well as in our plant in addition to the calibration of the individual paperless recorder. For this purpose, a DKD laboratory is available in the JUMO main factory in Fulda.
Up to 6 analog signals can be recorded simultaneously by the Logoscreen
500cf. This also applies to devices with released maths option.
With the version equipped with 3 analog inputs and released maths module, for example, it is possible to record 3 values calculated in the maths module in addition to the three analog inputs.
The configuration level on the device and the "Precise adjustment"
subroutine can be used to adapt each individual analog input to
reference signals. This device-specific precise adjustment is
exclusively carried out using the keys on the recorder to avoid
overwriting or transmitting this adjustment unintentionally.

If two lines or two columns appear per input signal on the recorder or when evaluating the PCA3000, the following reason applies:
The setting Peak values is factory set under "Recording" - "Normal operation" - "Saved values:". With this setting, the min and the max value is determined and saved in each memory cycle.
This peak value recording is particularly suitable for applications, to which the following statements apply:
For several "Standard applications", we recommend to select the setting "Average Value" under "Saved values:". Then the Logoscreen 500cf calculates the respective average value from the measured values collected in the memory cycle prior to saving and saves only one value per cycle. In this case, only one line per channel is displayed.

The standard web server function of JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt 706581 allows online display of the recorder screen for measurement data visualization.
You can select and change the view on the PC regardless of the current display on the paperless recorder.
For security reasons, configuration changes can only be made via the setup program or directly on the recorder.
A brief introduction to web servers using the JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt and a PC within a company network as examples:
1) Microsoft Internet Explorer is required as the web browser.
2) To display SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) images, which are used in the web server, correctly the web browser needs a plug-in such as the SVG Viewer from Adobe (http://www.adobe.com/svg)
3) Establish a direct Ethernet connection between the PC and JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt as described in the previous article.
4) If the current IP address of the JUMO LOGOSREEN nt is now entered in Internet Explorer, a window opens to query the user name and password for logging into JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt.

Online visualization is then established. Here you can switch between different views.
Once the USB flash drive is inserted in the recorder the following message appears:
JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt does not work with all USB flash drives that are available on the market.
Reliable functioning is only guaranteed when using USB flash drives that are purchased from JUMO.
The aim in Eco mode is to keep the number of saved measured values as low as possible while still clearly displaying the signal path.
The number of stored measured values depends on the dynamics of the measurement signal.
If the measurement signal is very stable the measured values are only stored at relatively large intervals. This is specified by "Min. Storage cycle" in standard operation of the group configuration.
If the measured value deviates from the defined "Tolerance band" for longer than set under "Storage cycle", additional measured values are stored. The reference point for the tolerance band is always the last stored measured value.
If the focus is less on the detailed signal path and more on monitoring limits, the number of stored measured values can also be reduced by storing the "Min/Max values" in conjunction with a longer memory cycle, thereby saving storage space and, if necessary, transmission time.
More detailed information on "Eco mode” can be found in the operating manual B 70.6581.0 in chapter 2.8.2.
Information on the "Flow Rate Quantity B" function on the JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt
The "Flow Rate Quantity Bx" function is located in the "Counters/integrators" menu.
In addition to recording the current flow or the flow velocity, a speed indicator or a display for quantities per time unit can also be implemented.
The calculated value can also be included as a line display in a group via the math option and thereby displayed next to analog input signals.
At one pulse per revolution, the speed in rpm could be displayed and stored as a line (= like an analog signal) in the following manner:

With iTOOL, a project is created with the Modbus gateway and the input modules.
In the example here, with 2 x 8-fold input modules.
Bindings must be created in the iTOOL project for polling the communication module.
Analog input module 1 is preferably connected to Real_In01 – Real_In08.
Clear sorting is obtained by placing 00 in front of the name for the bindings.
E.g. in001 (shown in the project example).
The second module corresponds to Real_In09 – Real_In16.
Configuring Logoscreen nt
To poll the communication module and the input modules, it is important to know the Modbus slave address.
This is permanently assigned in the background when creating the iTOOL project.
A list of the requisite addresses is displayed in the print preview.
To see this, proceed as follows. In the Network menu, select Compile....
Confirm the note from iTOOL with OK and close the window with Close.
In the Project menu, select Print-Preview... and check Module list. Uncheck the other options and confirm with OK.
You will then see a list of the modules.
In the Address column, you will see the associated internal slave addresses (red frame) of the modules.
The slave address found in Print Preview is now used as the instrument address for the Setup program entry in the Modbus master configuration. The Modbus address can be found in the system manual (sh70.4040d.pdf).

Newer notebooks are more often able to adapt to the direct connection without a crossover cable. However, with crossover cables you are always on the safe side.
JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt stores 2 device languages (by default these are GERMAN and ENGLISH). You can switch between these 2 languages on the device.

Using the setup program and the "Sort language" function you can specify which language is to be transferred to the JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt together with the other configuration data as national language 1 and national language 2.
JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt can later switch between the 2 languages that are defined in the setup program as national language 1 and national language 2.
Only national languages 1 and 2 are transferred with the setup data into JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt.

Why does the measured value view on the screen of the JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt disappear after switching to a different view?
View in the PCA3000 evaluation software:
To enable JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt to store measured values during normal operation, the "Status" parameter in the respective group must be changed from the default "Display only" to "Display, Save".
In addition, the memory status for normal operation must remain set to "ON".
The time between 2 grid lines results from the current memory cycle multiplied by 60.
With a set memory cycle of 0 seconds the JUMO LOGOSCCREEN nt works with 125 milliseconds. This results in 7.5 seconds per grid.
With a memory cycle of 10 seconds, 10 minutes lie between 2 grid lines. Approximately 24 minutes are displayed on the screen.
A display range independent of the actual memory cycle can be achieved as follows:
